Quality & Traceability

Every specification matters.

Agricultural commodities naturally vary. Our job is to reduce the uncertainty between what a buyer asks for and what is actually delivered.

What we coordinate

Quality control, built into every transaction.

Depending on the commodity and transaction, ORIGEN can coordinate the following:

Supplier verification

We check suppliers' identity, capacity and track record before we rely on them.

Sampling

Representative samples drawn from lots for evaluation and testing.

Quality inspection

Physical inspection against the agreed specification.

Laboratory testing

Independent laboratory analysis where the transaction requires it.

Grading

Lots graded against the buyer's parameters or recognised standards.

Moisture assessment

Moisture checked at aggregation and again before shipment.

Defect assessment

Mould, insect damage, slaty and other defects assessed and recorded.

Packaging verification

Bag type, weight, marking and condition checked against the order.

Batch identification

Every lot carries a batch ID that links its records together.

Origin information

State, region and supplier of origin recorded where available.

Processing records

Fermentation, drying and cleaning records kept per batch.

Shipment records

Container, vessel and documentation linked back to each batch.

Traceability

One batch. One connected record.

Where it applies, batch information follows the commodity through the supply chain, so you can trace what you received back to where it came from.

Example batch ID

Each lot carries a unique ID that ties together its supplier, farm, quality results and shipment.

Forward trace

Buyer → Shipment → Batch → Supplier → Farm

Start from a delivery and work back to the farms and suppliers behind it.

Reverse trace

Farm → Supplier → Batch → Shipment → Buyer

Start from a farm and see every batch and shipment it contributed to.

Honest about variation

We tell you what's realistic before you commit.

Harvests, weather and processing all affect quality. We'll be clear about which specifications can be met reliably, what testing is sensible, and where tolerances need to be agreed, before any contract is signed.

Specify with confidence

Tell us your quality requirements.

Moisture, fermentation, mould, foreign matter, defects, bean count, packaging, testing and traceability. Put it all in your request.
